Funding Applications Accepted until February 10, 2012
USDA NRCS Kansas State Conservationist Eric B. Banks announced recently the
availability of General Wetlands Reserve Enhancement Program (WREP) funding to
enter into agreements with eligible partners to carry out high priority wetland
protection, restoration and enhancement activities on eligible lands. |

NRCS Chief Dave White announced that the cut-off date for the current CSP
ranking period has been extended to January 27, 2012. Producers
who maintain a high level of conservation on their land and agree to adopt
higher levels of stewardship are eligible for CSP payments. |

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today reminded applicants that
January 31, 2012, is the last day to submit project pre-proposals for
fiscal year 2012 Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) from the USDA's NRCS.
Pre-proposals support large-scale demonstration projects that test and prove
original approaches to conserving America’s private lands. |

Eric B. Banks, State Conservationist for the NRCS for Kansas, announced the
cut-off date for submitting applications for the Grassland Reserve Program (GRP)
is January 25, 2012. Although applications may be taken at any
time, only those applications submitted and ranked by January 25 will be
considered for funding for the Fiscal Year 2012 program. |

assistance is available through the Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) Program
to assist Kansans impacted by the Spring and Summer 2011 Missouri River floods
in Doniphan, Atchison, Leavenworth, and Wyandotte counties. |
