Office of Workers' Compensation (OWCP) - Tips for Timekeeping

  • Any absence for medical care on the day of injury, due to that injury, is charged to "Other Leave – Administrative" with a corresponding note in the "remarks" section of the time sheet in the Web-based Total Cost Accounting System (WebTCAS). Thereafter, OWCP injury is charged.
  • The continuation of pay (COP) leave period starts with the day following the date of injury.
  • Each day or partial day of absence, after the date of injury, is charged to OWCP injury under the "leave" section of the time sheet in WebTCAS.
  • A diminishing record of the 45-calendar day limitation is to be maintained in the "remarks" section of the time sheet in WebTCAS.
  • Weekends are included in the 45-calendar day limitation.
