Farmland Protection Program (FPP)
FPP helps farmers and ranchers keep their land in agriculture.
The program provides matching funds to state, Tribal, and other local governments
and nongovernmental organizations with existing farmland protection programs to
purchase conservation easements or other interests in land.
The first FPP cooperative agreement has been signed with The
Nature Conservancy on 2,400 acres for $165,000. This agreement covers rangeland
in the Flint Hills in Butler County.
