Ground and Surface Water Conservation (GSWC)

EQIP provides for additional funding specifically to promote ground and surface water conservation activities. Assistance to a producer may be provided only to facilitate a conservation measure that results in a net savings in groundwater or surface water resources in the agricultural operation of the producer.

Kansas received $3.4 million and funded 82 applications approved to address ground and surface water conservation. However, producers submitted 690 applications requesting a total of almost $27 million. All applications funded were in Congressional District 1.
