2002 Kansas Report

Watersheds

The $1.55 million allocated to Kansas was obligated for four new watershed dams—two in Wolf River Watershed, Sites 12-8 and 12-26, Brown County ($700,000); one in Elk Creek Watershed, Site 32 and for outlet channel repairs Site 36, in Elk Creek Watershed, Jackson County ($248,756); and one in Spillman Creek Watershed, Site 14, Lincoln County ($315,000); and for wave protection repairs in Wet Walnut Watershed for 18 dams in Rush and Ness counties ($305,481). Also funded upland treatment contract additions for $9,876. The $1.58 million total project funding includes recovery of unused prior year funds.
