2002 Kansas Report

Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP)

WHIP is a voluntary program for people who want to develop and improve wildlife habitat primarily on private land for upland wildlife, wetland wildlife, threatened and endangered species, fish, and other wildlife.

Producers enrolled 10,299 acres in 79 contracts into WHIP. Contracts were funded for $372,030. Conservation practices have been planned for wildlife habitat improvement and depressional wetland restoration. Producers submitted 100 applications for $531,000.
